Sister and Brother LOVE

Jacob and Jaden love each and have so much fun together. Jacob wakes Jaden up each morning by crawling all over her and trying to wiggle his way in for a kiss and some love. Jaden might try to shew him away at first, but she smiles as she tries to give him a zerber on his belly. They love to play in the clean laundry, dance, sing, and as of last week, play in the new sandbox I built. I'm proud, can you tell. On the first day it was finished Jacob played in it for almost 45 min. while I did housework. I told Trevor, It was like a dream come true to see my little boy playing in the sandbox while I got things done. Trevor said, THAT is your dream come true??? hehe. Why yes, I guess it is.

Sea World

SEA WORLD we are back! A year and a half ago we had one of our favorite days ever. We came back for more. Trevor decided to add a little craziness and bring the family with him on his interview trip to San Diego and Irvine. It was great to cool off and imagine ourselves living in so. Cal. for the summer. With much, and I mean much deliberation and prayer, Trevor accepted a summer internship with Bryan Cave in Irvine, sorry Piper.

Trevor has been, you guessed it, busy, busy, busy. He's been juggling constant interviews and call backs, school, law review, a job, a church calling, and being the super-fun dad. After an extra week of anxiously waiting to find out if he was going to receive an offer from the San Diego DLA Piper office, the biggest law firm in the world, he received the magic phone call. This offer as a summer associate next year is big news, as the firm you summer with often is where you end up working. We love to be close to the family in Arizona, but the cool ocean air has been calling to us and we can barely stop jumping up and down in anticipation. With more call backs in Irvine and San Diego next week, Trevor continues to juggle.

Jacob magically turned from baby to boy right before my eyes. He is curious and hilarious. Always trying to play with us. If only we could play peek-a-boo and chase forever! I've yet another social child on my hands, as like his sister, he loves to say hi to everyone he meets. His favorite animals are still the giraffe and lion. Jacob was completely mesmerized when I took him to the zoo for the first time last week. Jacob loves reading books, sitting in his pink chair and cheese.

It's been almost 6 weeks since Jaden started her first day of school and we are still faking sick almost every morning. Jaden is amazing in her ability to dramatize any situation, but to truly feel a dislike for going all day to a school she doesn't enjoy makes for some pretty amazing theatrical performances. "School is like a bully." " I don't know if I'll live if I go one more day". "I think I've got the coughs and throw-ups at the same time". She recently tried to verify her illnesses with a thermometer. When told it must read 100 degrees, it only took two days to figure out that if she held it up to the light she could get it to excactly 100. Someone said, " if she's smart enough to figure that out, maybe she is right, she doesn't need to go to school." Despite the physically required dragging to school, she is learning soo much and making new friends. Jaden is also busy with Kindermusic, gymnastics, soccer and chess.

Summers Over? Where did it Go?

Jaden started 1st grade last week and I'm still in shock that the summer is over. We had a blast in being in Phnx with our family and friends. Staying at Lala and Papa's resort helped the enjoyment level, however, we are glad to be back home. Trevor was busier then ever with his clerkship and law review assignments, but he still managed to enjoy the elliptical and a morning swim before leaving at 6:45am each day. The kids and I loved the pool, Wii, and seeing cousins. We did escape the heat for one weekend when we went to see Trevor's sister Allison get married. She was radiant and we enjoyed the festivities and family. Trevor's school starts next week so he is slaving as quickly as possible to clean and fix everything that needs doing around the house. Baby Jacob decided to transform from a baby to my big boy with in days and is now running, climbing and talking everywhere he goes. Bye bye summer.

End of School Summary!

The school year is coming to a close. Jaden will be finishing her last week of kindergarden and Trevor is busy with finals, with only two more to go!! Jacob turns one in just a couple days. We can't belive how fast this year has gone by. The big news of 2008 would have to be Trevor writing onto LAW REVIEW! With only 15 law students chosen, this is a huge honor and a wonderful opportunity for next semester. We are so proud of him and how hard he has worked. To celebrate surviving our first year at law school, we are leaving for a one week getaway in Puerta Vallarta, Mexico. We are thrilled and can't wait to be hanging out on the beach draining Trevor's brain. Then we are off to Phnx for the summer!

We just go back from visiting Lala and Papa on their mission in Hawaii. It was a wonderful family reunion. Everyone was there except for Trevor (he was studying away). Jaden loved playing with her cousins in the ocean and at the beautiful resort pools. She even won a Hawaiian ice racing down the water slide. Jacob loves playing in the sand and just being around so many kids. We all loved seeing Lala and Papa!

Happy Birthday Trevor! And this is no April Fools joke - Trevor turned 33. He is now enjoying the 58 days he is older then I am. We celebrated with a scavenger hunt that led him to his presents ( which were all returned the next day). We made him where a name tag to school"I'm the birthday boy today". This made for a fun day with lots of birthday wishes.

Springtime is here. We have been playing at the parks, jogging in Sabino Canyon, going to ward picnics and just enjoying the beautiful cool spring weather while it lasts.

Trevor's summer Clerkship

So it's official. After weeks and weeks of interviews, Trevor has decided to take the offer to do a Federal Clerkship with Judge Teilburg at the Federal Distric Court in Phoenix, AZ this summer. This is not only a fantastic opportunity, but is also a prestigious position (this means it looks good on a resume). We will however, continue to be the poor students, instead of getting paid this summer we must pay tuition. The poor student thing is never fun, but has taught me to be more creative in the kitchen, helped us eat healthy packed lunches and has even helped to teach our 5 year old to go without, without the tears!! (Yeah, the hidden blessings)

Butterfly Fairy Land

A couple weeks ago, I took the kids to a butterfly atrium. It was amazing, with 100's of tropical butterflies. After an hour of 95 degree high humidity, I was finally successful in dragging our little fairy out for some cool air. We made it out for a good walk around the Desert Botanical Museum and then went right back to the butterflies to say farwell to her new found friends.

Summer Internship Blues

After interviewing with 35 different attourneys with a couple of the large firms in Phoenix and Tucson, Trevor has just about had it. He is still waiting to hear back from, well, anyone. Between day drives to Phoenix, thank you notes and the mental anguish we are all ready to find out if he's got a job or if this daunting process will continue. We'll keep you up-todate!
